When moving an existing Domino server from one piece of hardware to another, be sure to disable or deactivate the old IP. It saves you lots of time tearing your hair out because the connectivity is sporadic. :-p
When we moved to our new System i this weekend my mail server's http task failed because I didn't have my interface created with that IP. Kinda close. I had initially created the interface before we had hardware issues right after going live on that box the first time. I deleted them so that they couldn't inadvertently be started and cause the connectivity issues you had since our old box had to be started again...
